Name of Character: Jared Green
Desired face claim: Alex Gaskarth
Character’s age: 16
Character bio:
Jared spent his whole life living in Rivercourt Valley and he didn’t mind it as much as everyone else- then again, his family took mini vacations every month because their fear of getting tired of the place. Growing up, Jared befriended almost everyone. He acts like everyones best friend and big brother - though he’s younger than most, which is the reason why he’s so popular.
Cocky and confident on the outside, Jared keeps a lot of things to himself- like his obsession with Melanie Flynn, for one. Jared gets sort of shy and sweet whenever he’s around her, and she seems to think it’s precious more than anything. No matter how many uninterested vibes he gets from her, Jared can’t help but continue to want to pursue her. There’s something about her that intrigues him, captures his attention and holds it- and that’s not easy to do.
Jared is the kind of guy that can make anyone laugh, there isn’t much he takes seriously. Except for his brothers mysterious suicide. Jonah committed suicide a year after their sister was deployed to Afghanistan. Their parents had been put under a lot of stress that year which made a huge impact on both boys, especially younger brother Jonah. He was 15 and happy, or so Jared thought. One day, Jonah was found dead in the bloody bathtub with “Make them pay” carved into his wrists. Jared knew that it wasn’t just him missing his sister like his parents suggested. Someone had bullied his brother so bad that the only way to help him was to commit suicide. Now that he’s back from his two month visit to help kids in Haiti, Jared’s ready to find out what happened to his brother and ‘make them pay’. Fortunately, he’s got a feeling it has something to do with Sarah Davis.
Para Sample:
Jared’s flight home was long and boring. The movie that was playing wasn’t even a movie, it was a musical. That meant that every child sang along to the songs - not because they knew them, but because they’ve seen it at least 4 times the whole round trip. When they finally arrived at the airport, he could barely walk. He was exhausted and he wasn’t ready to come back home to an even smaller family. Ever since his brother had passed, he had still been the same happy guy but he had a time where nothing could excite him. That’s why he failed his freshman year the second time, and also why he was stepping it up this year.
After driving home to allow his parents to get some sleep, he went for a walk with his guitar case in hand. He was tired, but he was used to not getting enough sleep lately. The walk ended in the same place it always did- the cemetery. He would never let anyone know that these walks were frequent, not anyone. He was too tough on the outside to really let anyone in. He sat on the ground beside the tombstone that had Timothy Edward Green etched in the front. “Beloved brother, son and friend.” He had urged his parents to let it say brother first and since they knew how close they were, they let it happen. There were bright pink flowers sitting next to the tombstone, and Jared ran his finger across one of the petals, revealing the ruby red rose on his hand. The same month that his brother had died, he got the tattoo. It was his way of coping, though his parents didn’t approve at first. He reached down with his other hand and pulled the sleeve back more. “Tim, man, I really fucking miss you. Whatever it is..whoever it is that made you do this to yourself…I’m gonna find them. You deserved to live. You were so young, so young and innocent. Why, man, why?” With those last words, he began to cry. He made sure it was quiet, just in case someone was to walk by and see him breaking down.
After a few moments of hushed sobbing, he wiped his eyes with his sweater sleeve. “I wrote a song. I…I wrote a song about you. I wanted you to be the first to hear it. Just-just make sure you don’t laugh, okay?” He couldn’t help but let out a nervous laugh, and ran his fingers through his hair. He began to play the guitar, messing the notes up a bit before starting to sing, “Make it a sweet, sweet good-bye. It could be for the last time and it’s not right. ‘Don’t let yourself get in over your head,’ he said. Alone and far from home I’ll find you, DEAD, like a candle you burned out. Spilling wax all over the places left in place of angry words. Screeeam to be heard, like you needed anymore attention. Throw the bottle, break the door and disappear. Sing me to sleep, I’ll see you in my dreams, waiting to say ‘I miss you, I’m so sorry.” He continued singing until it was over, and his guitar was soaked with tears. “I love you, Timothy Edward Green, and I will find out who did this.”
Your secret: I really can’t think of one right now, so I’ll send it to -A’s blog when I do!
Occupation: Freshman in high school. Should be a junior, but he failed after the death of his brother, and the year his sister went to Afghanistan. He’s smart, but he couldn’t find the strength to go to school.
