Finishing the last sentence of his paper Logan dropped the pencil on the desk. He had spent all night working, and was without any doubt exhausted. He rummaged through the desk drawer pulling out a pack of cigarette’s, and lighting it. As he sat it the dim light of his small study he sat back, and for the first time that day he relaxed. His mind however instantly began racing with thoughts about the past, future, and the present. Logan regretted his past with Alice, look forward to his future, and dwelled on the thought of having to wake up the next day, and do anything.
As the cigarette that dangled from his lips slowly lost it’s warm glow, he realized he had zoned out. He stood up from his chair, his arms stretched out in a yawm as he made his way to the bedroom. He removed his t-shirt as he walked, and the moment he was close enough to his bed he just fell onto it. That night Logan slept more comfortably then he had in a long time, and for that he was grateful.
